Warriors Shoot Lowest Score of Season at Mesa Linda Golf Course

COSTA MESA, Calif. --- El Camino College shot its lowest score of the season to date on Monday at the latest Orange Empire Conference, Coastal Division match hosted Orange Coast College at the Mesa Linda Course at Costa Mesa Country Club.

The Warriors posted a 29-over 379, 14 strokes better than their previous low score of 393 at their home match on Feb. 28 at Alondra Golf Course.

Five of the six Warriors that competed shot a score in the 70s on the 5,547-yard par 70 course, the shortest course the team has played all season.

Daniel Crossan, Chan Woo Suk and Bradley Yamamoto all carded a 5-over 75 to finish tied for 16th while Kevin Hikichi was one shot back of his teammates with a 6-over 76 to tie for 23rd.

Yvo Galvez rounded out the team scoring with a 78 and Ryan Mahram shot an 80 on the day.

Orange Coast won its home match with a 6-over 356, three shots better than runner-up Cuyamaca (359). Cypress (362) and Saddleback (372) rounded out the team scores.

Tiger Tahvildari of OCC scored the individual win with a 6-under 64, two shots better than Alex Mascaro of Cypress with a 4-under 66. Zach Iwashita of OCC placed third with a 1-under 69, the only other score under par.

The Warriors will be back at Costa Mesa Country Club on Wednesday morning as all 10 teams in the OEC get together for the first neutral match of the season. The players will tee off a few yards over on the Los Lagos Golf Course starting at 11 a.m.
