Howard Given All-South Coast Conference First Team Honors

TORRANCE, Calif. - Jamal Howard was the sole representative of the El Camino College men's basketball team given All-South Coast Conference recognition it was announced this week.

The sophomore guard out of El Segundo High School was named to the All-South Coast Conference First Team.  He led the Warriors in scoring with 15.6 points per game and the team in total points scored with 438 points.  Howard led the Warriors in scoring in fourteen of their twenty-eight games played (6 non-conference, 8-conference games). 

Howard also averaged 4.3 rebounds, 2.4 assists, and 1.9 steals per game. He led the team in steals with 52 for the season. 

Howard attempted the most field goals for the team and shot 48.5 % for the season (159-for-328).  He also shot 40.7% from beyond the three-point line.

The sophomore recorded two double-doubles for the season, both of them coming in games vs Compton College.  He had 20 points and 11 rebounds against Compton at home on January 22nd. He had 22 points and 10 rebounds at Compton on February 7th, 2020.
