Warriors Falter at Home vs LA Southwest

TORRANCE, Calif. - El Camino College fell 95-77 at home against LA Southwest on Wednesday evening in their second to last game of the season.

The Warriors (6-21, 1-8) struggled offensively in the first half as the Cougars (16-10, 7-2) opened up an 18-point lead at halftime with the score 50-38.  Both sides put up 45 points a piece in the second half to finish the game at 95-77.  

Jason Vasquez had a great offensively as he led all scorers with 29 points and six rebounds in his final Warrior home game. Chase Pitt (12 points), Jamal Howard (11 points), and Rashon Crutcher (10 points) each reached double-figures in scoring.

Darren Calhoun led the Cougars offensively with 21 points.

The Cougars shot 55.6% (35-for-63) from the field while the Warriors were held to 46.7% shooting (28-for-60).  The Cougars sank eleven three-point baskets compared to the Warriors four. The Cougars bench outscored the Warriors 29 points to 8 points.

The Warriors will head to Long Beach City College on Friday, February 21st for their final game of the season. First pitch is scheduled for 7:00 PM.

The Warriors honored their five sophomores in a pre-game ceremony.  Jamal Howard, Rashon Crutcher, David Henderson III, Oshiua Alston, and Jason Vasquez.
