LONG BEACH, Calif. - After trailing by one point at half-time, El Camino College lost against Long Beach City College 83-66 on Friday evening.
The Warriors (5-17, 1-3) were leading 35-26 against the Vikings (18-4, 3-1) with 2:20 left in the first half but gave up an 10-0 run to finish the half which swung the momentum firmly to the hosts.
Justin Chambers led the Warriors with 24 points (8-17), 7 rebounds, 2 assists, and 1 steal. Justin Reyes had 17 points (5-12 from the 3-pt range) and 4 rebounds, 2 assists, and 2 steals.
Jace Bass led the Vikings and all scorers with 30 points and 14 rebounds.
The Warriors shot 37.9% and the Vikings shot 39.7% for the game. However, the Vikings had 27 points off turnovers to the Warriors 13 points and had 23 second chance points compared to the Warriors 6 points.
El Camino heads to Compton College on Wednesday, February 6th. Tip-off is set for 5:00 PM.
