Five Players Tally Double Figures as Warriors Beat Compton in Overtime

TORRANCE, Calif. – El Camino College overcame a 15-point second half deficit to force overtime and eventually pulled out a 121-116 victory over Compton College in a South Coast Conference, South Division contest at the ECC South Gym.

The victory snapped the Warriors' three-game losing streak and gave them their first victory in conference play this season. Justin Chambers led the charge with 31 points and seven assists while Isiah Armstead added 22 points and Tristan Egans scored 21 on the night. Justin Reyes and Nijel Jones each added 16 points off the bench as the Warriors reserves outperformed the Tartars bench, 45-8.

Derrious Ennis led the Tartars with 31 points and 17 rebounds and Jaylen Million scored 29 in 41 minutes of action. L'kielynn Taylor recorded a triple-double with 16 points, 11 rebounds and 11 assists along with three steals in the losing effort.

The Warriors trailed by 15 points with 11:43 left in regulation when they mounted their comeback, outscoring the Tartars 30-19 down the stretch to force overtime.

In the extra period, the Warriors turned a one-point lead into a two-possession game on five straight points from Armstead. He hit a jumper to make it 117-114 and then drilled a 3-pointer to put the Warriors up by six with 1:54 left in overtime.

The Warriors defense made it stick as the Tartars missed four of their last five shot attempts in the last 92 seconds.

The Warriors will now hit the road for their next two conference road games starting Wednesday night at L.A. Harbor.
