Warriors Fall to Antelope Valley in Tournament Opener

El Camino College trailed by double-digits after one half and never recovered, falling to Antelope Valley 148-99 Friday evening in a first round game at the Gregg Anderson Memorial Tournament hosted by AVC.

Four Warriors scored in double figures, led by Tristan Egans' 34 points on 12-for-20 shooting. He hit seven of his nine 3-pointers and added six rebounds while Justin Chambers added 19 points. Isiah Armstead scored 17 points and Brock Lee dropped 11 in the loss.

The Marauders had two players scored 30-plus on the night, led by D'Mauria Jones' 39 points on 18-for-21 shooting. He hit two threes and Gregory Floyd Jr. poured in 32 points on 13-for-16 shooting, going 4-for-5 from distance.

The Warriors defense faltered on the night as they allowed the Marauders to shoot 71.4 percent from the field as they hit 60-of-84 field goal attempts. The Warriors were also outrebounded 62-37 on the night.

The Warriors forced 28 turnovers on the night and cashed them in for 27 points but the Marauders capitalized more on ECC mistakes, forcing 27 turnovers for 39 points. They also dominated ECC on the inside, outscoring the Warriors 86-24 in the paint.

With the loss, the Warriors move on to the consolation bracket where they will face Mira Costa on Saturday afternoon after they fell to De Anza on Friday. Tipoff is set for 3 p.m.
