Warriors Have a Dozen Players Selected to All-League Team

2023 SCFA ALL-NORTHERN LEAGUE TEAM

TORRANCE, Calif. --- El Camino College had 12 players selected to the 2023 All-National Northern League team, it was announced Monday.

The Warriors had six players selected on the offensive side of the ball with six defensive players making the grade on the other side. The Warriors 2023 selections are as follows:

First Team Defense: Cohen Fuller, Jacob Kalolo, BJ Wagner, DJ Morgan, Jonathan Roditis

Second Team Defense: Justin Evans

First Team Offense: Jonah Tauanu'u, Joshua Lorick, Bryant Williams, Marceese Yetts

Second Team Offense: Devin McDonough, Justin Harris

Fuller was a unanimous selection to the squad after playing in all 11 games this season. He was second on the team with 66 tackles (30 solo) and led the team with three sacks and 10 tackles for a loss. He also recorded a pick-six, forced and recovered a fumble and blocked a kick on special teams to go with two pass break-ups from the defensive line. 

Kalolo played in 10 of the Warriors' 11 games this season and tallied 42 total tackles (25 solo), good for fifth overall on the team. He had 7.5 tackles for a loss.

Wagner was third on the team with 52 tackles including 38 solo stops. He played in 10 games and averaged 5.2 tackles per game. He also recorded three pass break-ups and one interception.

Morgan was the defensive anchor for the Warriors, leading the team with 69 total tackles including 44 solo tackles. He added one sack and 5.5 tackles for a loss and three pass break-ups.

Roditis had a good year punting the ball as he totaled 1,465 yards on 37 kicks. His 39.6 yards per punt averaged placed him just outside the ECC Top-10 All Time and he also booted 16 balls inside the 20.

On offense, Lorick led the Warriors with 47 receptions and ranked third in the SCFA with 10 touchdowns. He racked up 725 receiving yards to earn his second straight All-League selection.

Bryant Williams led the team with 765 receiving yards on 41 catches. He was a constant deep threat as he averaged 18.7 yards per catch. He scored four touchdowns while playing all 11 games for the Warriors.

Yetts was a threat all over the field as he led the Warriors with 550 rushing yards and 1,248 all-purpose yards. He was third on the team with 358 receiving yards and led the team with 321 kickoff return yards. He went on to score seven total touchdowns.

Tauanu'u played in 10 games for the Warriors on the offensive line and led a group that was fifth in the SCFA with an average of 216.6 rushing yards per game.

The Warriors' second-team selections were led by Evans on defense who played in all 11 games this season. He made 25 tackles (14 solo). He was a staple on the special teams unit and blocked one kick while also coming up with one interception on the year.

Justin Harris was another member of the offensive line for an offense that racked up 5,069 yards of total offense, good for fourth in the SCFA.

Devin McDonough had another solid season as the long snapper for the Warriors and he had zero fumbles or botched snaps on the year.
