Football Hammers Santa Monica to Conclude Non-League Play

TORRANCE, Calif. --- El Camino College concluded its non-league schedule with an exclamation point after a 55-7 victory over Santa Monica on Saturday night at Murdock Stadium.

The Warriors (3-2) set new season highs in points, total yards (602) and passing yards (409) as they trounced the Corsairs (1-4).

Ironically, Saturday's game was the team's lowest output in the ground game with 193 yards total. The Warriors had 10 different players carry the ball against Santa Monica with Stephen Bradford Jr. leading the charge, going for 57 yards on just eight carries while scoring two touchdowns.

Brian Santana-Fis added 45 yards and a touchdown on just seven carries and Marceese Yetts recorded 37 rushing yards on just three attempts.

The air attack posted a new season high with 409 yards as Mehki Jordan (168 passing yards) and Jeliun Carter (241 passing yards) combined to go 30-for-43 through the air with four touchdowns.

There were 16 different players that recorded a reception on Saturday night with Yetts, Nick Laufenberg, Jabari Hughes Jr. and Khyren Ross each recording a touchdown.

The defense also had a field day on Saturday as they recorded seven sacks and 14 tackles for a loss. Aaron House and Lando Brown each had two sacks while Quentin Brown recorded an interception.

The Warriors will open National Central League action next week as they take on Mount San Antonio on the road.
