Warriors Season Comes to End at Riverside

RIVERSIDE, Calif. – El Camino College fell behind early and never recovered as its season came to an end with a 63-24 loss at Riverside in the Southern California Football Association Regional Playoffs on Saturday night.

The Warriors (8-3) fell behind to the Tigers (11-0) early and had no answer for quarterback Stone Smartt. The Riverside quarterback accounted for seven of the team's nine touchdowns on the night, throwing four and running in three.

The Warriors trailed 21-0 early in the second quarter but the team put together a seven-play, 75-yard scoring drive capped off by a 23-yard touchdown pass from Aaron Thomas to Hunter Williams to make it 21-7.

But the Tigers answered with two more touchdowns in the quarter to take a 35-7 advantage and they never looked back.

Thomas finished the game with 245 yards passing and two touchdowns in his final game with the Warriors.

Sophomore Trevon Clark also played his final game on Saturday night and put up 65 yards on four catches. He finished the year with 986 receiving yards on 57 receptions, averaging 17.3 yards per catch.

Linebacker Quinn Perry earned the ECC Player of the Game Award after posting six tackles (5 solo) on the night. He also added six punts for 236 yards.

The Warriors have now posted back-to-back winning seasons for the first time since they posted seven straight winning seasons from 2003-09. The team also took back the Milk Can Trophy with their victory over Cerritos to end the regular season and won their first league title since 2008 and first outright title since 2005.
