Six-Game Win Streak Snapped Against Fullerton

TORRANCE, Calif. - No. 10 El Camino College were defeated 44-13 at home on Saturday afternoon against No. 2 Fullerton College at Murdock Stadium.

The Warriors (6-3, 3-1) had no answer against the highly efficient Hornets (9-0, 4-0) offense.  The Hornets offense outgained the Warriors offense 635 yards to 285 yards.

Grant Ferrauilo led the offense with two passing touchdowns and 135 yards (14-29).  Trevon Clark continued his scoring streak and had one touchdown reception and 50 yards on 6 receptions. Hunter Williams also had a receiving touchdown.  

Angelo Pacheco led the defense with six tackles (5 solo, 1 assist) and one forced fumble.  Quinn Perry and Justin Martz each had five tackles. Jonah Tavai had four tackles and the lone sack for the Warriors.

Fullerton started the scoring early in the game on their first drive.  They drove 49 yards and scored on 9 plays to put them up 7-0. They were able to double their advantage later in the first quarter off a 70 yard touchdown pass to put them up 14-0.  

El Camino's offense responded right away with a scoring drive on their own.  Grant Ferrauilo found Trevon Clark for a 20-yard touchdown to put the Warriors only one score behind the Hornets.

At the start of the second quarter, the Warriors missed a 39-yard field goal attempt that would've made the score 14-10.  Instead, the Hornets scored on a 63 yard touchdown pass two plays later to make it a 21-7 lead for Fullerton.

The Warriors kept it close and scored on a 15 play, 75-yard drive on their own on their next possession.  Grant Ferrauilo found Hunter Williams for a 26-yard throw into the endzone but the Warriors missed the extra point and were down 21-13.

Fullerton College scored two more times and kicked a field goal before the period ended to take a 37-13 lead into halftime.

At halftime, the Warriors honored former El Camino College Football players from the All-Decades teams from the 1940s', 1950s' and 1960'.

The Warriors defense were able to hold the Hornets to one touchdown in the second half to make it a 44-13 game.  However, the El Camino offense couldn't get anything going against the physical Hornet defenders in the second half.  

El Camino College heads to Cerritos College to finish out the regular season.  Since Fullerton College accepted a post-season ban for this season, the Warriors will battle it out with Cerritos College for the SCFA National Central League division title with a likely playoff berth on the line.  Kick-off is scheduled for 6:00 PM at Falcon Field.
