Offense Erupts In Win Over LA Harbor

TORRANCE, Calif. - El Camino College's offense put on an impressive display in a win over rival LA Harbor on Saturday afternoon.  

The Warriors (1-2) outgained the Seahawks (1-1) 509 yards to 286 yards.   The Warriors passed for 390 yards and rushed for 119 yards. The Seahawks passed for 255 yards and rushed for 31 yards.

With Aaron Thomas out for the game with an injury, Grant Ferrauilo stepped in as the starting quarterback and went 19-25 for 349 yards and 5 touchdowns.

Jeff Hansen  led the Warriors in rushing with 33 yards on three rush attempts, and one touchdown.  Claude Coleman led the Warriors in receiving with 5 receptions and 92 yards.

LA Harbor opened the scoring first on an opening 65 yard drive to make it a 7-0 game.  They made it a 10-0 game to start after El Camino fumbled on their opening drive to give the Seahawks a good position in field goal range territory.  LA Harbor led 10-0 at 10:17in the first quarter.

After a fumble in their first drive, the Warriors were able to respond with consecutive scoring drives in the first quarter.  Shawn Prejean scored on a 37 yard pass from Ferrauilo. The Warriors blocked a punt on the Seahawks next drive, and Ryan Nixon scored on the punt return to hand the Warriors a 14-10 lead.  

Kishawn Berry scored on a 43-yard pass in the second quarter to make it a 21-14 lead.  LA Harbor then brought the score back to 21-17 after a 71-yard touchdown pass on the first play of the drive.  The Warriors were able to score one more touchdown before the half ended when Brian Keskeys scored a 49-yard pass from Ferrauilo.   Keskeys took on three LA Harbor defenders on the play and fought to get into the endzone to make it a 28-17 game.

El Camino scored on two touchdowns in the third quarter.  Raymond Graham scored on a 10-yard pass from Ferrauilo to make it 35-17.   Jeff Hansen rushed into the endzone with the third quarter clock expiring to make it a 42-17 game.   

The Warriors and Seahawks would each score a touchdown in the 4th quarter.   Keskeys scored his second touchdown of the day after a 12-yard pass from Ferrauilo with 8:07 left in the game. The Warriors were able to close out the game, 49 to 24.  

The game was riddled with penalties from both teams.  El Camino had 19 penalties for 186 yards and LA Harbor 17 penalties for 189 yards.   

The Warriors will play the Orange Coast College Pirates on the road for their next game.  Kick-off is scheduled for 6:00 PM at Lebard Stadium.
