Bio

Jerry McClanahan enters his first season on the Warriors coaching staff in 2024.

McClanahan was a graduate assistant coach for UC Irvine for two seasons (2018-19) under legendary head coach Mike Gillespie and current head coach Ben Orloff. 

He also has experience as the pitching coach for the Anchoarge Bucs of the Alaska Baseball League during the summer of 2019. The Bucs would go on to win the 2019 ABL Championship. 

McClanahan was drafted by the Baltimore Orioles in the 19th round of the 2015 MLB Draft. He went on to play three years in the MILB, getting as high as High A ball. 

From 2012-15, McClanahan was a member of the UC Irvine baseball team where he played 206 games, the sixth most in program history at the time. He started 193 games primarily as a catcher and was a member of the 2014 team that advanced to the NCAA College World Series. 

The Arcadia, California native graduated from UC Irvine in 2015 with a degree in sociology with a minor in education. 

McClanahan attended Bishop Amat High School from 2006-10 where he played baseball and football. He was an All-State underclassman in 2009 while also earning All-CIF and Del Rey League MVP honors that same season. He would also earn First Team All-San Gabriel Valley Team honors in both football and baseball.
