Warriors Season Ends at Santa Ana

SANTA ANA, Calif. --- The El Camino College baseball season came to an end on Saturday with a 17-7 loss to Santa Ana in game two of the 3C2A Southern California Regionals.

The Warriors could not keep the host Dons off the scoreboard on Saturday as the defending state champions put up the most runs in a game against the Warriors this season, nullifying a day in which seven of the Warriors' nine starters recorded a hit.

Lucas Bonham and Joey Replogle each led the offense with two hits apiece while Bonham, Connor Meidroth and Eric Perez each tallied a double in the loss.

But the Dons pounded out 19 hits on the day including four doubles and two home runs to finish off the sweep and advance.

The Warriors came out firing early, going up 2-0 in the bottom of the first as the designated home team. They scored on an error and an RBI single from Replogle but the Dons responded right back with three runs in the second to take the lead for good, scoring seven straight to take a 7-2 lead.

The Warriors fought back, trimming the deficit to 7-6 with a four-run fourth. But the Dons once again responded with five runs in the fifth to put the game away.

The Warriors finish the 2024 season with a 21-21 overall record.
