Warriors Wallop Seahawks in Series Opener

TORRANCE, Calif. - The El Camino College Warriors baseball defeated LA Harbor 14-2 to open the three game series on Tuesday afternoon at Warrior Field.

The Warriors (16-17, 9-10 SCC) scored 14 runs on 13 hits and were aided by 4 Seahawk errors.  Matt Hammond led the Warriors with a 2-for-3 day with 6 RBIs with four of them coming from a third inning grand slam.  Lucas Bonham had two hits for the day, Angel Gonzalez, Jack Nammack, and Christian Miranda was 2-for-2 with 3 RBIs and reached base all five times after also being hit by a pitch three times.

Jason Davis picked up the quality start after tossing 8 innings and allowing just two runs on six hits and five strikeouts.  Davis had a shutout going through seven innings before allowing four hits and two runs in the eighth inning.  Gavin Grace tossed the final frame and struck out the side.

The series will head to Wilmington on Thursday as the Warriors will square off against the Seahawks at 2 PM before returning home on Saturday at 12 PM to complete the series.
