Former El Camino College outfielder Ty Conrad has earned a number of postseason accolades in his first full season at Academy of Art.

On Wednesday, Conrad was named to the 2021 American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA)/Rawlings NCAA Division II West All-Region Second Team. It was the first time he received the award.

The honor came after Conrad was already named to the 2021 NCAA Division II Conference Commissioners Association (D2CCA) All-West Region Second Team on May 26. In addition, Conrad was also named to the All-PAWEST Second Team on May 18.

Following a COVID-19 shortened 2020 season, Conrad had a career year for the Urban Knights as he played in all 36 games and batted .338 with 46 hits including seven doubles, one triple and four home runs. He drew 14 walks and stole eight bases while scoring 35 runs.

He ended the season ranked in the top-10 in four different categories including runs scored, hits, RBI (33) and stolen bases.

Conrad attended ECC for three years (2017-19) and played two full seasons for the Warriors on the diamond. He played three games in 2018 before sustaining a season-ending injury and redshirting the year.

He was named to the 2017 All-SCC South Division First Team and made the 2019 All-SCC South Division Second Team in his time with the Warriors. Overall, Conrad appeared in 103 total games for the Warriors and posted a .279 career batting average, recording 117 hits including 19 doubles, three triples and four home runs.
