Alarcon Commits to UNLV

El Camino College sophomore infielder Diego Alarcon has committed to conclude his academic and athletics career at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas.

Alarcon played in 67 games at ECC and was in the middle of a career-best season in 2020 when the COVID-19 Pandemic put an end to the Warriors' year. In 20 games, he was hitting .370 with a .433 on-base percentage and .543 slugging percentage with two home runs and 15 RBI.

In 2018, Alarcon won the first ever Rawlings Gold Glove Award in ECC history while playing at second base as a freshman. He also batted .328 in 47 games to go along with a .421 on-base percentage and .466 slugging mark.

For his career, Alarcon batted .340 with 97 hits and 21 doubles with seven homers and 52 RBI. The Warriors were 16-6 and 10-1 in South Coast Conference play in 2020. They were in the midst of an eight-game winning streak when play was halted.

The UNLV baseball team went 6-11 in 2020 before the reaminder of the season was cancelled.
