Galicia, Fernley and Orozco Earn Postseason Recognition

El Camino College pitchers Jimmy Galicia and Aaron Orozco and head coach Nate Fernley earned nods to the 2019 California Community College Baseball Coaches' Association All-State and All-Region Team.

Galicia and Fernley earned top honors as the freshman right-hander earned a spot on the CCCBCA All-State Team while the Warriors' skipper earned the CCCBCA Coach of the Year Award. Orozco was named to the CCCBCA All-SoCal Team as a pitcher.

Fernley led the Warriors to a state runner-up finish in 2019 as the Warriors advanced to the CCCAA State Final Four for the second time in the last three seasons and made it to the CCCAA State Championship Finals for the second time in program history and first since 1951. The Warriors led the state with 40 victories this season and the team posted the best team ERA in the state.

Galicia anchored the Warriors pitching staff as the team's top starter. The freshman appeared in 18 games this season, making 16 starts and going 13-3 with one save. He posted 83 strikeouts and a 1.92 ERA in 122 innings pitched this season.

Orozco rounded out the Warriors selections, earning a spot on the All-SoCal Team as a pitcher. The redshirt freshman had an excellent year on the bump as he went 12-1 in 17 starts. He posted a 2.10 ERA and recorded 114 strikeouts to lead the team.
