Galicia Masterful in Win over LA Harbor

WILMINGTON, Calif. - Jimmy Galicia needed only 56 pitches to labor through seven innings of work in a 7-1 win over LA Harbor on Thursday afternoon.

Galicia picked up his 9th win of the season for the Warriors (31-6, 16-5).  Galicia was helped by a 7-0 lead by the offense including a big three run first inning against the Seahawks (13-24-1).  

Galicia allowed three hits, zero walks, and fanned two batters.  Nathan Draves and Garret Spicuzza pitched an inning of relief each.  

Aaron Orozco led the offense for the day with a 3-for-4 day with 1 run and 2 RBIs.  Ty Conrad was the other Warrior with a multi-hit game. Matt Beserra continued his hot bat by depositing a 3-run homerun over the RF wall in the fifth inning.

The Warriors opened the game with three runs in the first inning.  Spencer Long hit an RBI single to center field to score Jerry Granillo make it a 1-0 game.  Aaron Orozco hit a 2-RBI single to right field to bring in two more runs.

In the second inning, Joseph Borges singled to right field to score Taishi Nakawake to make it 4-0.  Matt Beserra extended the lead to 7-0 in the fifth inning after hitting his second homerun of the season.  

The Seahawks got one run back in the eighth inning but that was all.  Garrett Spicuzza tossed a scoreless 9th inning to end the game for the Warriors.  

With the win over LA Harbor, the Warriors have won seven conference series.  They loss on series vs Mt. Sac and split a series with Chaffey College.

The Warriors will conclude the regular season on Friday at 2:30 PM vs LA Harbor.  The Warriors continue to be in second in conference play by one game after the Long Beach City COllege Vikings defeated Compton College 12-3 in game two of their three-game set.
