TORRANCE, Calif. - The Warriors pitching staff was stellar in a 3-1 win over Fullerton College on Wednesday afternoon at Warrior Field.

The Warriors (29-6) pitching staff combined to allow only two hits for the visiting Hornets (10-24).  After giving up a leadoff homerun in the fourth inning and a single in the fifth inning, Jimmy Galicia and Spencer Long combined to retire 14 straight Fullerton batters.

After a nervous start to the game and allowing the bases to load in the first inning, Jimmy Galicia had another fantastic outing.  Galicia pitched seven innings allowing one run on two hits, three walks, and fanned seven batters. Spencer Long picked up his eighth save after throwing two shutdown innings and striking out one batter.

Matt Beserra was the only Warrior with a multi-hit day for the game.  Beserra was 2-for-4 with 1 run and 1 RBI.

Fullerton took the lead first in the game on a solo blast by Ryan Stephens to start the fourth inning.  El Camino responded in the bottom half of the inning with three runs of their own. Ty Conrad reached on an error to start the inning and Aaron Orozco doubled him home to tie the game at 1-1.  Matt Beserra singled to CF to score Orozco to make it 2-1. Casillas and Nakawake both reached the bases to make it loaded and Jerry Granillo scored a run on a fielder's choice to make it 3-1.

The Warriors will host one more non-conference game to finish out the week. They will host Taft College on Friday, April 19th.  First pitch is scheduled for 1:00 PM.
