Warriors Defeat SD Mesa on the Road to Remain Unbeaten

SAN DIEGO, CALIF. - The Warriors extended their unbeaten to four games to open the season after beating San Diego Mesa 4-2 on Wednesday afternoon.

Max Pappas (1-0) got the start for the Warriors (4-0) and tossed 6 innings giving up 2 runs off 3 hits and 2 walks and striking out 5 batters.  Spencer Long picked up his second save of the year after hurling 3 scoreless innings and striking out 5 batters.

Jerry Granillo and Spencer Long both had two hits for the day.  The Warriors out hit the Olympians (1-3) 11-to-3 for the day.

The Warriors took a 2-0 lead in the 2nd inning after Jerry Granillo and Brett Gieseke scored on a SD Mesa error.  

The Warriors doubled their advantage to 4-0 when Spencer Palmer doubled to the center field wall and scored Taishi Nakawake and Long.  

San Diego Mesa scored two runs in the 5th inning when Isidro Velez singled down the RF line to bring in two Olympian baserunners.

The Warriors will look to continue their unbeaten streak going as they host Moorpark on Friday, February 1st at 2:00 PM at Warrior Field.
