Warriors Remain Undefeated to Start the Season

LANCASTER, Calif. - The Warriors continued their hot start to the season as they moved to 3-0 after defeating Antelope Valley College 6-1 on Tuesday afternoon at Marauder Baseball Stadium.

Sophomore Nathan Draves picked up the win for the Warriors (3-0) after tossing 6 innings giving up 10 hits, 1 run, and striking out four Marauder (0-3) batters.  Ian Brady, Joseph Brazil, and Zach Findlay each threw a scoreless inning a piece with Findlay striking out the side in the 9th inning. Brady and Findlay both made their El Camino debuts after redshirting last season.

Aaron Orozco led the way offensively for the Warriors going 3-for-4 with two runs and two RBIs.  Spencer Palmer and Brett Gieseke each picked up two hits a piece.

The Warriors took a 2-0 lead early in the top of the 1st after Matt Beserra and Spencer Palmer scored on a Orozco base hit to center field.  The Marauders would pull one run back in the bottom of the 1st but that was all they would score for the day.

In the Top of the 3rd, Orozco picked up his second RBI of the day after another base hit to center field to make it 3-1.  Gieseke would make it 4-1 two batters later after hitting a double to left field.

The Warriors added their 5th run in the 6th inning after Spencer Long drew a bases loaded walk.  The Warriors added their final run of the game in the 7th inning after Orozco scored on a sacrifice fly by Gieseke.

The Warriors continue the week with another road game on Thursday, January 31st against San Diego Mesa. First pitch is scheduled for 2:00 PM.
