Six Warriors Given Honors as All-Conference Teams are Announced

2018 All-South Coast Conference Teams

Six Warrior student-athletes were given honors as the 2018 All-SCC South Division Teams were announced.  

Five Warriors were named to the All-SCC South Division first team and one Warrior was named to the All-SCC South Division second team.  

Kenneth Haus was named to the All-SCC South Division first team and given his second All-SCC South Division honors in a row.  Haus has started thirteen games and has an 8-1 record with a 2.59 ERA in 87 innings pitched. Haus has struck 84 batters during the regular season.  He is tied for 11th in the state in wins (8) and strikeouts (84). Haus is third in the conference in Earned Run Average, tied for first in the conference in wins, and first in the conference in strikeouts.

Spencer Long was named to the All-SCC South Division first team as a starting pitcher.  Although Long is a two-way player and plays shortstop when he doesn't pitch, it's on the bump where he received his honors. Long has pitched in ten games and started in seven of those.  Long has a 4-4 record with a 2.68 ERA in 47 innings pitched. Long has struck out 40 batters during the regular season. Long is fifth in conference in Earned Run Average.

Jose Ruiz Jr. was named to the All-SCC South Division first team as a catcher.  The sophomore batted .307 for the regular season with season and had 47 hits. Ruiz Jr hit four home runs, drove in 36 runs, and scored 43 runs.  Ruiz Jr. is tied for second in the conference with 36 runs batted in.

Spencer Palmer was named to the All-SCC South Division first team as a first basemen.  The freshman batted .426 for the regular season with 63 hits. Palmer has the 7th highest batting average in the state and first in the conference.  Palmer has slugged 8 home runs, driven in 36 runs, and scored 43 runs. Palmer is tied for 14th in the state with 8 home runs and second in the conference. Palmer is tied for second in the conference with 36 runs batted in.  

Cody Wissler was named to the All-SCC South Division first team as an outfielder.  The sophomore batted .373 in his second campaign with 60 hits. His batting average ranks among the top 50 in the state.  Wissler has slugged two home runs, driven in 36 runs, and scored 27 runs. Wissler is tied for second in the conference with 36 runs batted in.

Joseph Borges was named to the All-SCC South Division second team.  Despite missing a month of action, the freshman batted .333 for the regular season with 39 hits.  He swatted one home run, drove in 28 runs, and scored 26 runs.

The Warriors will open the CCCAA State Championship Playoffs on Friday as the No. 11 seed in Southern California and will be on the road at No. 6 Moorpark College.
