Baseball Heads to Moorpark to Open CCCAA Playoffs

The El Camino College baseball team will start the postseason on the road after earning the No. 11 seed in Southern California and will take on No. 6 Moorpark in the first round of the California Community College Baseball State Championships, it was announced Sunday.

The Warriors will take on the host Raiders in a best-of-three series beginning Friday, May 4. Game two will take place on Saturday with a winner-take-all game three to follow immediately if necessary.

This season, the Warriors finished the year with a 24-16 overall record and 13-9 mark in the South Coast Conference, South Division, just one game back of first-place and No. 1 overall seed Cerritos.

The Raiders won the Western State, North Division title with a 25-15 overall record and 13-7 mark, two games better than Santa Barbara.

The winner of the series is matched up with the No. 3 Saddleback – No. 14 (13) East Los Angeles series.
