Kenneth Haus had one of his best performances of the season on the mound Tuesday as El Camino College scored a 5-1 South Coast Conference road victory over Long Beach.

Haus was stellar for the Warriors (20-13, 9-6) as he allowed just one unearned run on four hits. He walked one and struck out nine for his seventh victory of the year.

Offensively, Cody Wissler led the way with three hits while Jose Ruiz Jr. drove in a pair of runs. Diego Alarcon and Spencer Palmer added two hits apiece.

The Warriors jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first inning as Ruiz Jr. singled with the bases loaded to bring across two runs and give the Warriors all the runs they would need.

Haus faced six batters over the minimum on his way to victory, retiring the side in order in five of the nine innings he tossed.

The Warriors will look to clinch the series on Thursday as the teams tangle in game two of the series at Warrior Field. First pitch is set for 2:30 p.m.
