El Camino College held and early lead but a pair of huge innings for L.A. Mission proved to be the difference as the Warriors fell to the Eagles, 9-6, Tuesday afternoon at El Cariso Park.

The Warriors had their three-game winning streak snapped and dropped the season series to the Eagles, 2-0.

Spencer Palmer continued his torrid hitting at the plate for ECC as he went 3-for-3 with a run scored, two RBI and two doubles. He has hits in his last seven at bats without making an out. Diego Alarcon and Cody Wissler each tallied two hits and Taishi Nakawake drove in two runs without the benefit of a hit in the loss.

Trevor Talpas took the loss on the mound for the Warriors after allowing five earned runs in two and 1/3 innings of work. Ricky Ramos, Tyler Bonsky and Joseph Brazil all saw action out of the bullpen for the Warriors.

The Warriors scored in five of the nine innings on Tuesday while allowing the Eagles to only score in two innings, but all nine runs came in the third and sixth inning for the hosts as they battered ECC pitching with 13 hits including three extra-base hits.

In the first inning, Palmer got the Warriors on the board with an RBI double to plate Jordan Folgers and give ECC a 1-0 lead.

Spencer Long tacked on another run in the second inning with an RBI single to plate Wissler and make it 2-0.

But the wheels came off for the Warriors in the third inning as the Eagles plated five runs on three hits to take the lead for good.

The Warriors trimmed the deficit to 5-3 in the fifth with an RBI single from Wissler but the Eagles added four more runs in the sixth inning to put the game away.

The Warriors will return to action Thursday afternoon as they host Santa Barbara at Warrior Field. First pitch is set for 2 p.m.
