COMPTON, Calif. – El Camino College pounded out 19 hits and ran away with its 17th consecutive victory with a 14-3 decision over ECC Compton Center in a South Coast Conference-South Division matchup Tuesday afternoon at the Major League Baseball Youth Academy.

Noah Barba blasted his second home run of the season for the Warriors (25-2, 12-0) and Dorn was 3-for-5 with two doubles and three RBIs as ECC's offense overwhelmed the Tartars (8-17, 2-9) in the first game of their series.

Barba finished the afternoon going 2-for-5 with three runs scored and three RBIs as the Warriors scored 12 times before the Tartars were able to get on the board.

The Warriors jumped out in front in the second inning as Hunter Lewis scored on a wild pitch with the bases loaded. Cody Wissler then followed suit on another wild pitch to make it 2-0 without having to swing the bat. Dorn capped off the frame with a sacrifice fly to left field to plate Barba and put ECC up 3-0 after two innings.

Wissler hit an RBI single in the third inning to make it 4-0 and then the Warriors put the game out of reach in the fourth. Ryan Eastburn got things started with a sacrifice fly to center to score Ty Conrad and then Barba stepped in later in the frame and smacked a two-run homer to put the Warriors up 7-0 and they never looked back.

Ricky Ramos stayed undefeated on the season on the mound, picking up his fifth win as he hurled six innings of shutout baseball. He scattered four hits, walked one and struck out three. Trevor Talpas, Andy Monarrez and Sullivan Lyons combined to pitch the final three innings to seal the lopsided victory for the Warriors.

The teams will meet up Thursday afternoon at Warrior Field for game two of their three-game set. First pitch is set for 2 p.m.
