The Warriors Bounce Back From Consecutive Losses After Defeating SBVC, 5-3

SAN BERNARDINO, Calif. – The Warriors (9-2) traveled to play San Bernardino Valley College (1-11) Wednesday afternoon, defeating the Wolverines 5-3. The Warriors bounced back from their back-to-back losses against Saddleback and Santa Barbara last week.

The Warriors started the game strong scoring their first two runs in the first inning. Trevor Casanova scored off of an RBI ground ball from Angel Mora. Ryan Eastburn singled bringing in Brady Dorn. In the bottom of the 1st, Dorn fielded all 3 ground ball outs for the inning; the Warriors led 2-0 heading in to the 2nd inning.

In the top of the 2nd, Darian Sylvester hit a two run double scoring Hunter Lewis and Trevor Casanova. The Warriors took the lead 4-0 after the top of the 2nd, until the Wolverines scored 2 runs heading in to the 4th.

In the bottom of the 4th, starting pitcher Ricky Ramos closed out the inning with runners on 2nd and 3rd with one out. The Warriors' bats stayed hot in to the 5th inning, with a two-out double from Noah Barba, followed by an RBI single from Eastburn. The Warriors were up 5-2 leading into the bottom of the 7th.

In the bottom of the 7th, Jake Carr came in to pitch with a runner on 3rd and one out. The Wolverines scored their third run on a fielder's choice groundball. The Warriors were still up 5-3 leading in to the 8th. Carr earned the save, striking out two batters in the 9th to end the game. The Warriors beat the Wolverines, 5-3.

Ricky Ramos earned the win, pitching 6 1/3 innings, allowing 2 earned runs and 3 strikeouts. Jake Car earned the save, pitching 2 2/3 innings, allowing no runs, with 3 strikeouts and no hits. Ryan Eastburn went 2 for 3, with 2 RBI and one walk. Trevor Casanova 2 for 4, with a double, scoring 2 runs.

The Warriors travel San Bernardino Valley College again tomorrow, facing the Wolverines at 2 pm.
