The Warriors Defeated Bakersfield In Game 2 Of Their Series, 7-1
BAKERSFIELD, Calif. – The Warriors won game 2 of the 3 game series versus Bakersfield College, 7-1. The Warriors now start their season 7-0.
The 1st inning started slow for the Warriors, 3 up and 3 down. Taylor Rashi started on the mound for Warriors, retiring the side with 2 strikeouts, ending the inning 0-0.
In the beginning of the 2nd inning, the Warriors loaded the bases with 1 out. Hunter Lewis singled scoring 2 runs, putting the Warriors on the scoreboard, 2-0.
In the 3rd inning, the Warriors mounted another rally with back-to-back singles from Ty Conrad and Brady Dorn. Angel Mora loaded the bases after a fielding error by Bakersfield. After a double play from Bakersfield, the Warriors extended their lead to 3-0.
In the top of 4th inning, after a walk and throwing error from Bakersfield, Trevor Casanova doubled to score Hunter Lewis bringing the score to 4-0. In the bottom of the 4th, Bakersfield got their first hit. The Warriors pitchers go 12 innings of hitless baseball while in Bakersfield.
Taylor Rashi was still cruising after 7 complete innings allowing only 3 hits. Warriors still lead 4-0.
In the top of the 8th inning, Ryan Eastburn faced a bases loaded walk with 0 outs and the Warriors extended their lead to 5-0. Hunter Lewis brought in 2 more runs from a base hit, the Warriors finishing the inning 7-0. Rashi was in control of the game through the 8th inning.
Thomas Stropky came in to close out for Rashi in the 9th inning, finishing the game 7-1 for the Warriors.
The Warriors face Bakersfield at 4pm for the final game of the series.
