Leilua and Glickman Fall in Bracket Play

CHULA VISTA, Calif. – Phina Leilua and Kylee Glickman were the last El Camino College Beach Volleyball pair standing going into Saturday but could not advance at the California Community College Athletics Association Beach Volleyball Pairs State Championships Saturday morning at the Chula Vista Elite Athlete Training Center in Chula Vista, Calif.

One day after finishing as the runners-up of Pool 1, the Warriors No. 2 duo and 2019 South Coast Conference Champion duo had to face Pool 2 winners Carnes and Nagase of Feather River in the Round of 16.

Things started off rocky as the Warriors dropped the opening set, 21-15. Needing to win the second to keep the season alive, Leilua and Glickman fought hard but were edged 22-20, bringing the ECC Beach Volleyball season to its conclusion.

The Warriors advanced to the CCCAA Beach Volleyball Team State Championships for the first time in program history and finished tied for third overall. The Warriors also qualified three pairs for the CCCAA Beach Volleyball Pairs State Championships.
